Consumer’s Right: NCC Orders Telcos To Fix Data Depletion Issues

In an effort to address several complaint by telecom consumers, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has taken a bold step and had directed mobile network operators to audit their billing systems and resolve the issue of data depletion.
According to a statement made available by the regulatory agency revealed that the agency will finally address the long-standing complaints and ensures consumers receives fair treatment from telecom providers.
The statement reads, “In a move to finally addresses the long-standing complaints of Nigerian consumers,the regulatory agency is putting the power back in the hands of consumers, ensuring they receive fair treatment and transparent services from telecom providers.
The NCC recognizes that consumers deserve a seamless experience, from selecting a network to enjoying quality service at fair costs, receiving responsive customer support, and having the freedom to switch networks without hassle.
To achieve this, the commission is working to simplify tariff plans and ensure that billing systems are transparent and accurate.
By standing up for consumers, NCC is sending a clear message to telcos: prioritize your customers’ needs and provide them with the quality service they deserve. This move is a victory for consumers and a step towards a more consumer-centric telecom industry in Nigeria.
