RwandAir Partners with Accra Weizo to Advance Seamless Travel Across Africa
In a bold move to bolster intra-African travel and tourism, RwandAir has partnered with the organizers of Accra Weizo, West Africa’s premier travel expo, to promote seamless connectivity across the continent. The collaboration aims to drive greater regional integration and accessibility by showcasing Africa’s expanding air travel networks.
Accra Weizo, launched in 2015 by Akwaaba African Travel Market, is a flagship travel and tourism event focused on breaking down barriers to travel within West Africa. The 8th edition will hold on June 27, 2025, in Ghana, and is organized in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Ghana Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC). A highlight of the event will be the Tour Operators coming together to discuss measures for seamless travels. Also, attract travel professionals from across the sub-region to engage in dialogue, networking, and partnership building.
RwandAir, one of Africa’s fastest-growing airlines, has maintained a strong presence in Ghana since launching services to Accra in July 2013. The carrier currently operates three weekly flights—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—using its Boeing 737 aircraft. These flights link Accra to RwandAir’s extensive route network via its Kigali hub, offering onward connections across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Through its strategic alliance with Qatar Airways, RwandAir further extends its reach to global markets, while a local partnership with Africa World Airlines enhances domestic and regional access within West Africa. This multifaceted approach underlines RwandAir’s commitment to fostering both regional mobility and international tourism.
Also lending support to this year’s Accra Weizo is the Royal Senchi Hotel & Resort, an iconic luxury destination in Akosombo, Ghana. Nestled on the tranquil banks of the Volta River, the Royal Senchi is known for blending eco-conscious design with authentic Ghanaian hospitality. Its involvement reinforces the expo’s high-profile stature and underscores the hospitality sector’s vital role in promoting tourism growth.
