NCC Launches e-Health Project in Ondo, Pioneers Digital Healthcare Transformation in Nigeria

In a major stride towards integrating technology into healthcare, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has commissioned a state-of-the-art e-Health project at the State Specialist Hospital in Akure, Ondo State. The project, officially launched by the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, marks a significant milestone in the Commission’s broader vision to revolutionize Nigeria’s healthcare system through Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Addressing dignitaries, health professionals, and stakeholders during the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Maida emphasized that the initiative is a reflection of the NCC’s commitment to driving digital innovation and enhancing public service delivery.

“Today’s commissioning of this e-Health Project attests to our collective efforts to harness the power of ICT to improve and revolutionise the health sector in Nigeria in a manner that better serves citizens,” he said.

The project is designed to digitally empower the hospital’s operations, enabling faster diagnostics, more accurate treatment plans, and comprehensive digital health.
