Ethiopian Airlines Celebrates Milestone Receives State-of-the-art A350-1000 fleet In Lagos
Ethiopia Airlines has again marked a significant milestone this time was for both the airline and the Nigeria aviation industry delivering a state-of-the-art A350-1000 fleet, as the airline becomes the first airline on the continent to introduce this cutting-edge aircraft.
As the aircraft touched down at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, it was greeted with a spectacular water cannon salute, a testament to the excitement and anticipation surrounding its arrival.
This, Ethiopia airlines reflect that the bold step was borne out of its commitment to further ensure it offers top notch services to its passenger as the new fleet boast a revolutionary design for passengers’ unparalleled comfort.

Dignitaries, aviation enthusiasts, and media gathered to witness this historic event with 272 passengers, 15 in Business Class and 257 in Economy and flown by captain Sisay Kebede.
Speaking at the historic occasion in Lagos, the GM Ethiopia Airlines Nigeria, Mr. Wondwossen Beyene expressed “It is my pleasure to welcome you all to this historic occasion, as we celebrate the arrival of Ethiopian Airlines’ state-of-the-art A350-1000 fleet to Lagos, Nigeria. This marks a significant milestone in African aviation, as Ethiopian Airlines becomes the first airline on the continent to introduce this cutting-edge aircraft.
The flight we are receiving today is the first commercial flight of the Aircraft underscoring the commitment of Ethiopian Airlines to the Nigerian market. The A350-1000 boasts a revolutionary design with innovative aerodynamics and a carbon-fiber fuselage, powered by the fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, ensuring a quieter, smoother journey for long-haul travel. It is a game-changer in the aviation industry, boasting unparalleled comfort, efficiency, and technological advancements.”
On board, passengers will experience unparalleled comfort on this Aircraft, because:
– It is the first Aircraft to feature Thales’s AVANT Up inflight entertainment system and the HBC+ connectivity system, providing travelers with luxurious amenities, High Speed internet connection, large screens, unique landscape camera and spacious seating with direct aisle access for all business class seats.
