Chidimma Adetshina To Represent Taraba At Miss Universe Nigeria After Rejection In S/Africa
A Nigerian-South African model, Chidimma Adetshina has officially entered the Miss Universe Nigeria beauty contest.
It would be recalled that Adetshina who was forced to drop out of the Miss South Africa pageant following a controversy about her citizenship had accepted an invitation to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria beauty contest.
Announcing her as a delegate on Friday, organizers of Miss Universe Nigeria said Adetshina will represent Taraba State in the beauty pageant.
Dubbed contestant 25, the pageant show organizers are calling on viewers to vote her for the beauty crown.
Adetshina was born in 2001 in Soweto, South Africa at to a Nigerian father. Her father is of Igbo descent while her mother is a Mozambican who had became a naturalized citizen of South Africa.
She was competing in Miss South Africa reaching the top 11 finalists. She, however, withdrew from the pageant, citing fear for her safety and well-being after getting a series of xenophobic threats.
She was subsequently invited to participate in Miss Universe Nigeria by the organizers.
