Over 60,000 Teachers to Attend ‘Let There Be Teachers Conference’ in Lagos 

In line with passion to boost teachers confidence, Director of Strategic Partnerships, 1 Million Teachers/ Convener, Let There Be Teachers Conference, Oluwaseyi Anifowose has said the teachers conference schedule to hold on September 20, at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos will amplify teachers voice thereby empowering teachers for a transformative change within the education sector.

Speaking at the press conference to officially unveil the conference in Lagos, Seyi emphasised on the need to encourage teachers so that the nation can boast of professional teachers that would assist in equipping the younger generation in their needed skills.

He said, On September 20, 2025, something monumental will happen at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos—over 60,000 teachers will gather in ONE place to celebrate their role, reaffirm their commitment, and MAKE history. The Let There Be Teachers Conference 2025, is not just a conference; it is a movement. A bold, collective step to redefine the teaching profession, restore its dignity, and reposition teachers as the cornerstone of quality education and national development.

According to the National Policy on Education (2014), “no educational system may rise above to the quality of its teachers” So we are doing this: Because we believe that the future of our nation depends on the quality and commitment of those who stand in front of our classrooms. Because the truth is—you cannot fix learning outcomes without fixing the status of the teacher. And because we believe that the people who shape all other professions deserve to be celebrated, empowered, and equipped.

He further hinted that the Lagos State Government has officially approved the attendance of all public-school teachers in Lagos while the organiser is still engaging with the NUT, APEN, NAPPS, AFED and other associations in mobilizing educators from the private sector.

“We thank them for their trust and support. However, this conference will feature: Keynote speeches from the Minister of Education, and other national and international education leaders. Two power-packed panel sessions—one featuring trailblazing teachers, and the other focused on education policy and leadership. 1MT Blackbelt graduation, celebrating some of the most passionate educators in the country.
