Nigeria Police: Newfield Schools Celebrates Heroes In Blue

In an effort to celebrate the Nigeria heroes Newfield Schools Magodo has reinstate it commitment to preach charity amongst the society thereby engaging it’s pupils to always remember to celebrate people that contribute to the development of the nation.
According to the school management when the children visited the Magodo Police Station on Tuesday said the school want the children to be cautious of their environment and celebrate the heroes amongst them.
However, the Police was the first set of heroes that was celebrated on July 16, 2024 with the theme “Celebrating Our Heroes”
In the euphoria at the Magodo Police Station, ASP Robert Aziba explained the responsibility of the police stating that the police force is an organised civil force for maintaining order, preventing, detecting crime and also enforcing the laws.
According to him, “The meaning of Police, many of you do not know of course, the history of the Police Force cannot be complete without having knowledge of what Police means. Police means “Police Officers for Legal Investigation and Criminal Emergencies” began it full operations in the year 1930 where other forms of military and paramilitary came out of the Nigeria Police Force.
On why the school chose the Police as one of the heroes, the Head of School, Mrs Yemisi Odunsanya emphasised that “initially a lot of people tends not to know the importance and the Police impact on the society but truly we want the children to be cautious and to know what the Police stands for to know that Police are those who keep the society and they make the society a safe place for us all and it is because of that we are able to sleep at night and be able to have an environment that is free of crimes so we just want them to be sensitive about it. So this is one of the key reason the children are here.
She said, the children have really learned alot, I was impressed when the ASP gave the lecture stating that other military came out of police and he said police came into place April 1, 1930 and then from the police force we have the other arms of military coming out of the police and that’s a new information for the kids and definitely I am taking it back to school as I have taking note of most thing that were shared here today.”

“Newfield school aside from teaching pupils in the class we teach them to be cautious of what goes in the society and this now has brought them to a reality that there are people who we do not really think about meanwhile they are people and heroes of the society and they are people who keep the environment safe and secured. Outside of the class we have the LAWMA officers they keep the street clean and keep germs and disease away from us by keeping the street clean which a lot of people take them for granted. We have the PHCN who are there to take care of our light and even the security officer at the estate gate also contribute his quota all these put together hence, those should not be neglected without looking at their importance. Coming here is celebrating heroes at different levels and this will make the student appreciate those people and silent worker we do not really cater for and it will make them come to reality.”
Mrs Moshood Aminat, PTA Chairman, said “coming here change a lot of children’s views and that had a particular view of the Nigeria police and also learning for the very first time that police birth the army. It is a great change of perspective for the children. So, I feel this is a good way to learn about security and society.”
The School Headboy, Al’ Annan Ogunfowoke shared his experience expressed ” I have learnt that Police are hero and they are everywhere to make sure our society is safe as they leave their family to help other families that’s to show how much they risk their life and they are amazing people and one day I will like to safe other people like Police.
What I have learned here I will share with other kids how I met the ASP and how I saw the one-star badges and how I saw the two-star badges and the one bar and two star bar. And how I saw the clothes worn from Monday to Friday.
Also, I will tell people in my community that pyolice are good people and they don’t harm people doing good things they are everywhere to make the environment safe just for you to have a good life.”
“I will encourage the Police to be more intense in terms of security and as well put in more effort to make sure the society is safe for people. They should ensure to employ more trained officers so that the country will be safe from traitors and crimes. I just want the country to be safe.”
