Jimi Agbaje Loses Son

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2019 general elections Jimi Agbaje has lost his first son Bunmi in Canada.

The Triple News learnt that on Tuesday Bunmi died of cardiac arrest.

According to Nigerian journalist, Seun Oloketuyi via his Instagram page on Tuesday morning, said the tragic incident occurred on Monday, May 27th, 2024.

It is reported that Bunmi’s death left the Agbaje’s devastated.

Announcing the sad news, Oloketuyi shared a candle light with a black background with the caption, “Let’s keep Jimi Agbaje in our thoughts and prayers. He lost his beloved first child, Bunmi, to cardiac arrest in Canada. May Bunmi’s soul rest in peace.”

Although there has been no official statement from Agbaje regarding this heartbreaking news, there has been an outpouring of support and condolences from Nigerians.

Jimi Agbaje is a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also the Lagos State Coordinator of the Afenifere Renewal Group and active member of the Save Nigeria Group.

He is also the Managing Director of JayKay Pharmacy and has extensive interests and investments in the maritime sector.

Agbaje, a founding member of the Alliance for Democracy, defected to the PDP following complaints of lack of internal democracy within the party.
